Exam Paper Masterclass - LCOL - Wed Feb 25th - 4:30pm to 6pm

The Exam Paper Masterclass is a 90-minute, examiner-led Leaving Cert Maths workshop designed to help students maximise marks by understanding how exam papers are written, marked, and assessed.

This is not another grind or revision class. It is a fully exam-focused session, built around real marking schemes, common examiner observations, and the strategies that consistently separate average scripts from high-scoring ones.

The workshop is designed and hosted by a Leaving Cert State & Appeals Examiner with extensive classroom and correction experience. Students will learn what examiners look for, where marks are commonly lost, and how to recover marks even when a question goes wrong.

Each student receives a dedicated, examiner-designed workbook, created specifically for this masterclass. The workbook and notes are used together throughout the session and are not available elsewhere.

• How Leaving Cert Maths questions are structured and marked

• How to pick up marks, even with incomplete answers

• The most common mistakes that cost students easy marks

• How to interpret tricky wording and avoid exam traps

• How to present solutions clearly to maximise partial credit

• Practical techniques for timing, layout, and exam decision-making

The session is interactive throughout, with live worked examples, student participation, and opportunities to ask targeted exam questions.
